  • How do I run a looping Q2 timedemo?

I was going to try and crash my new Cel550 box, and that seemed like a good way to do it. If you have any better ideas, let me know.

Ahhh, nevermind...I just set timedemo to 1 and let the demos run on their own. That should do the trick.

      Almost..but it's "demomap demo1.dm2" etc...

And BTW..my new Cel box ran for two hours before it caused a page fault in the Nvidia OGL driver. Not bad for a scrawny little heatsink

Extremely stupid question on my part, but since I'm not much of a quake II player you might can help. I need to now what commands to type in at the console to benchmark using the timedemo and if there is a file I need to download to do it can you please refer me to a site that has it, I have already used Massive and Crusher, but in a single player game which is what I usually play those benchmarks are pretty much useless to me.

To run looping timedemos for quake 2 go to www.ve3d.net/3Fingers/files and search for something related to that. Sorry for not posting the link to the file, but I canĀ“t connect to the site, maybe they are down in this moment.

And to run Q2 timedemos go to the console and type "timedemo 1" and then "map demo1.dm2" for demo 1 and "map demo2.dm2" for demo 2.

            Darksyd:

It works both ways, demomap xxxx.dm2 or map xxxx.dm2, if you set timedemo to 1 before. Try for yourself.

              Ahh, you are correct.

And I can sneak in the movie quote of the day...
