  • To Kruzin and other regarding my G400

    OK!

I have tested the hints you gave me Kruzin, and found that My G400 share IRQ 11, not only with one "cept pci steering", but with two of them. The trouble now is how to deactivate these "cept pci steering":s from IRQ 11. I don´t manage to do that.

The other hints you gave me I have tested without seccess, so lets hope it has something to do with the sharing of IRQ 11.

Please respond as soon as possible..

    /Mike

It's ok to share with one 'PCI steering', but two's probably not a good idea. Try booting up in safe mode, then go through all the device manager then remove all duplicated entries for everything.

My PC? Not that bad, got all sorts of crap in it, and all sorts of crap around it and my desk is also messy. Now what does that say about me? ;¬)

While booting up, hit the F8 key, and boot into safe mode.

Go into your device manager. Find all duplicate entries of any kind, and remove them (both copies). Then when you reboot into normal mode, have windows redect the hardware.

Usually if there is more than one pci steering, it indicates something else was on that IRQ at some point. There may still be bits of old drivers flosting around in there, that will only show themselves in safe mode.

There will always be one PCI steering device shown for the G200/400, and most PCI devices, on their respective IRQs...

If that's true, my system is doing some strange things...

On IRQ#9 I find, besides my G200, the Intel 82371AB/EB universal host controller for PCI to USB, and 2 IRQ Holders for PCI-steering...

Upon deleting them, they always return to IRQ#9.

But then again, my system works okay, so why change it??

Thats correct. One IRQ steering for each device.

But if there are 2 showing up for just one device, something is not right...
