  • Rollcage = G400 unfriendly!?

    Greetings.

Try mess around in the graphics/video/sound options. Turn everything (EVERYTHING) at the lowest/worst and see if it helps.

If the fps jumps to 99 then enable one thing at a time and see when/if the game slows down again.

    Then post i ROMs bug-thread

    Cheers,
    Fish.

What about other games? It almost sounds like you're not running all the right drivers, or your bus-matering is disabled.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

      Rollcage = G400 unfriendly!?

      Hi People,

Rollcage doesn't run on my system, well, it 'runs', but at about 5fps, deosn't matter if in 640x480 or 1024x768.. wtf is going on? Anyway.. I have G400 single 32mb, C433, 128ram..
      any suggestions?
      is there a patch?

Hey.. well.. i figured out my problem with the G400 and Rollcage.
somehow the G400 can't handle the "drawing distance" settings.. even on the bare minimum setting..
that's the only thing that's slowing everything down.. I tried 320x200, turned everything off, and then I put the drawing distance up just a tiny bit.. and it slowed down to an unplayable level..
        any suggestions??

          Hi,

only thing I can say is, that your system seems to be badly configured.

A friend of mine with an old Celeron 266 (without cache) plays Rollcage at 1024x768 @ 16Bit with FULL drawing distance (rest at standard settings) with his G400 16MB OEM.

I can play it smooth even at 1600x1200 @ 16Bit @ standard settings with my config (look at the specs below, my sys should be slower than yours!).

So I think something is screwed up. Please refer to the posts in the "Matrox Hardware" forum for trouble shooting.

          Greetings

I could really use your help!! Why won't Rollcage run properly with my new system!??
What could the problem be.. it's obviously with drawing distance.. doesn't matter if it's in 320x200.. it's just unplayable.. wtf!?
I ran the matrox diagnostic.. it said everything's just fine.. so.. grrr! Pls reply soon.. I need this fixed. Thanks!

Hi... try to keep the help in the forums if possible - it helps all the wallflowers like myself!

What Z buffer bit depth are you using - If drawing distance is an issue then maybe (I dunno why I am thinking this) this is to blame?

And how come I seem to be posting about Z-buffers all the time at the moment?

all I know is that the box for "enable 32bit Z-buffer" is disabled...
I think I have the latest bios & Drivers.. unless they didn't install properly or something!?

                      when 32bit Zbuffer is disabled, you're using 16bit ...

those are the two available options.

                      ...

Do you have DirectX 6.1 installed ?
