I have an AMD K6-2 350(3D Now! enabled) Viper V770 TNT2 135/160, 128 mb PC-100 RAM, 83 hz monitor refresh rate, I run my desktop at 1024x768@32bpp. I have a 5400 rpm hard drive I believe...V Sync disabled, 3D Now! instructions enabled, triple buffering, 800x600@16bpp and I only get about 2,374 marks. I closed all programs in background. I don't think thats normal, I expected at least 3000 something. Someone help me here!

Well, good news and bad news. I yanked a Diamond Viper V770 from a machine at work (using latest detonator drivers 2.08), took it home and benchmarked it against the G400 (using Powerdesk 5.13.xxx at 1024X768 I recieved 6180 3Dmarks in 16-bit color, where as the G400 was only capable of 5701, not a big difference but still quite noticable as the benchmark ran. Now here is where the G400 kicks the TNT2's ass, These cards are both clocked the same G400 via MGA Tweak and Viper V770 via Powerstrip (latest version), both running at 146 core. In 32-bit color the TNT2 is much much slower then the G400, I got 4700 3DMarks on the G400 and the Viper barely squeezed out over 3000. Since 32bit color is the way to go in the future, the TNT2 just cannot compete even at 800X600 it lags way behind the G400. So I guess the TNT2 isn't all it's cracked up to be, or that Diamond is just a shitty version of a TNT2.

I would trade them all for one max, but that'll never happen
