  • FYI: no EMBM in UT

Noticed on the UT chat tonight that they said they won't be added EMBM because it will be superceded soon (!!) and they will look at it for their next engine. No clue what "superceded" means :-P

Uhhhh, superceded means that there is something newer that is going to take it's place in the market, so there will be no future upgrades to it. (in other words it's out dated and there is newer stuff coming out)

I hope that's not true. EMBM is going to be outdated soon?

I donĀ“t know about EMBM, but the unreal engine is so crappy that not even after 20 patches thry got it working right. Can we say it was "superceded"?

I didn't mean I didn't know what "superceded" literally means. I meant I didn't know what it implied (i.e., what other technique will be better than EMBM). I'm trying to read between the lines, ya know? :-)

I have ridden the UNREAL bandwagon since it first came out. I am on of the 25 players that still play online. hehehe First Unreal multiplayer is way better than Q2-3 in deathmatch IMOHO. Let me be the first to say this...UT will NOT work well on any other app than GLIDE !! No matter how much Tim Sweeney plays with the code! I agree that there have been a million patches for this gaming engine and it still locks up and runs like a dog in D3D and OpenGL. For that reason I still have a V2/12 just for Unreal and Tribes. Wait and you will see Glide will be the choice for any Unreal gaming engine. Sorry to say.
