Well, I can't get much faster than 5 hr 48 mins. Sample of one, but no way I can touch the 3 hours Rags seems to be doing...

This was on a Xeon 550, using the linux-client. For benchmark-purposes, I let it run all by itself. Normally, all four CPU's are crunching happily together. That slows them down somewhat though.

WooHoo!! I made it into the top ten for average times, with only a single system.

Anyway, my times all come from my P3-450 (originally o.c.'ed to 558 with Win98, now at 525, due to Win2K's pickiness). Even though it's no longer clocked as high, it still processes a WU faster now than before, thanks, most likely, to Win2K's overall efficiency compared to that of Win98.

I'm also considering running this on my wife's computer, but so far she's threatened to cut me off (pardon me, to any sensitive readers) if I try it, so I've held back for now.

            I made a top 20 list, woohoo!
I get about 7 hour wu on this system. The pIII 600's i used to use were a lil slower, due to constant use...

            wohoooo i made A LIST!

Hi all! Wow, I never thought I'd come in first on any list! Alas, I'm not eligible for the Regiter's contest since the CPUs I'm using now are not mine. I was originally using my trusty old Celeron 300A@450 to crunch out work units. Then I got the idea to use some idle CPUs on the HP J-Class compute servers where I work. These servers have since been upgraded to the HP L-Class servers that tear through a work unit in just under 3 hours. I usually use 2 or 3 CPUs at a time, but my average isn't quite down to the shortest time possible yet, but I'm working on it! My guess is that now both Rags and myself are able to spit a WU out in about equal time. More power to the MURC!

Oh look at that... average time now 8 hr 59 min 45.6 sec ... faster than you are Martin

                  Jord.

P.S: I do one WU every 5 to 6 hours on my P3-450 non OC.

Ehhh, don't tempt me now, all right?

My average is steadily going down as well... it's just that I did so many slow WUs some time ago...

Anyway, it looks like I won't turn in *any* WUs for the rest of the weekend. And my stats-pages aren't updated either. Bummer.

                    Back on monday!

That's what I get for having those 6 extra-slow system running for 7 months - a very high average time....

                      Oh-well....

                      Go Team!!!

                          Hi Jorden
5-6 hours on a p3-450. How the hell do you do that. I cant get my p2-450's under 9h, and my p3-550 under 8h.
Can i please get some help so i can crounch some more units.
All of these machines are running with nt4.
I tried using the textclient and that gave about a 10% reduction in time. But there gotta be something else i can do??

Jorden? How do you do that?
my xeon 500 average on the latest 401 Wu is 7,56,32.
my p3600 512k average on the latest 229 is 6,20,53.
i upgraded the 600 to a 700e yesterday because Hecubus is starting to breathing down my neck, but its not any faster, since it has smaller cash 256k and seti really needs 512k

Comes with the trade I guess Still using GUI 1.06, in the background all the time. It only quits when I shut my PC down or when I play heavy 3D games. Maybe I get tossed easy WU's?

Averaging 5hrs. 15min per unit under Win98SE character client version 2.04....

Not too bad, can't wait to try it under W2K and possibly linux.....
