    Pace,

I think it might be best if we keep your pages where they are for the time being. You're obviously working on them, so it's just the easiest if you can change & upload whenever you want to. When things have settled down a bit, we can always see if and how we could merge them into seti.matroxusers.com. Does that sound right?

I could write something about crunching on unix/linux. I'll send it to you (or post it here).

    Martin

I was planning to keep it on my space until I think it's worthy anyway! So we'll se about moving it later.

As for the Unix guide - thanks.

And I've read that the 2.x CLI clients are actually faster in Windows 95 than Linux - is this true?

      Paul.

        Yes, so it seems.

But the only win9x box I have is my home-machine (it's triple-boot). And somehow, seti deems it necessary to restart my WU's after every other reboot or so. And since Windows reboots are usually "spontaneous", I've removed seti from win9x; too frustrating.

        So I can't really check.

Hmm I have those spontaneous Windows reboots as well, good job I run Linux for my "serious" PC

As far as the server goes the deal with GA is that we have unlimited disk space and bandwidth, well as long as we don't start running warez or porn As for the server problems I'm trying to get things sported out. I've been speaking to the GA admin and according to his serever logs for example these froums have not been down this weekend yet as I'm sure you all know they were down for 8 hours Friday/Saturday and 10 hours Sunday/Monday. We are supposed to be moved onto a new server, we'll see how things go then.

Bloody useless server logs. Don't give any worthwhile information, and can't burn them to keep warm.

              Pace,

You should have the Linux-guide in your mailbox.

No spontaneous reboots in my Win98... and yes, I have also found Win98 to be somewhat faster than Linux in the current CLI version.
