  • help setting up Seti on a Linux box

I've tried setting up Seti on a Linux box (SuSE 7.0, kernel 2.2.16), and each time basically it just fills up my hard drive (3 GB free at the start of the set-up). The first time I just winged it...run the executealble, the hard drive filled up and the system crashed....this was a drag. I then went to Pace's great seti@murc website, found excellent instructions on setting up seti on a Linux box, followed them exactly, and the same result...no more hard drive space.

I'm clearly overlooking something that's not obvious to me.

    Thanks for any suggestions,

    John

No more HD space? What do you mean? Is SuSE trying to install a lot of stuff? Or are you referring to SETI? SETI takes little space, so I'm not exactly sure what you're asking.
