  • Is it my machine or is ver 2.04 GUI slooooww?

See signature for config, currently running it under 98SE. Would the speed be significantly better under W2K? Currently running around 13.5 hrs per unit.

That is WAAAAAAAAY too slow for 866MHz.

    1. Check if you've set the screensaver to blank after 0 minutes, or disabled it altogether. Of course you would have to set the program to "Always run".

    2. You could instead run the text-only client ftp://ftp.cdrom.com/pub/setiathome/s...nt-cmdline.exe (yes, it runs on win9x too).
This would get your times sub 5 hrs., when your comp. does nothing else.

    3. If 1. is not your problem and/or you don't want to opt for 2., then you might have some other prog/task running that sucks up your CPU time. You'll have to provide more info about your setup then, so we can figure out how to get those times down.

    Edit: Alright 868 MHz then
