  • Is it me?

Or has the forum gone quiet lately??
I used to enjoy a good 'Lurk' around the forum when I got home from work, although I haven't posted much. Just lately though, the heart seems to have gone out of the forum. Is it because of the new client. Or is it just my imagination?

    TomNuttall:

I have the same feeling as you do. This and General HardWare forum are the ones I frequent the most. Stat postings and Seti news from Pace, Guru, Sisyfos and Ees are what I enjoy the most from this forum along with competition among the ranks and humor within the threads. The new client has alot to do with people losing interest in Seti in my opinion. Its so discouraging to see the production drop dramatically dispite all the effort and time put into tweaking/optimizing the pc's and managing the workunits. Often, I ask myself if crunching in the name of Science is worth all my efforts and resources now that the fun part of it is diminishing. The cheating fiasco in TLC did nothing but discouraging more people from Seti crunching. Perhaps, enough is enough... there is life after Seti..

It looks like the whole MURC forums have gone dead recently. I have seen few posts in the forums lately.

I have not lost interest in seti or the forum but the I had a virus called Baldurs Gate on one of my computers that seams to have upgraed itself to Baldurs Gate II !
Will upload some stuff to www.setiatmurc.f2s.com on monday if I have the time! (Have to do it from work )! And the top crunchers will be updated today! They have not been updated the last 2 weeks mainly becouse I ****ed up bigtime when I saved them 2 weeks ago and the week before that my mobo in my ICS was broken(the saved stats files was on the server HD [NTS fat] so I could not update them!

Oh and I managed to get myself to place 15 in our team !

I was just wondering myself if it had gone a bit quite here ,I wasn't sure though 'cos I haven't been around much lately

Ref v3.03 ,we'll get used to it soon enough (well ,most of us) ,& then after a while the v3.0 times will be a distant memory

The slow pos 3.03 has ceased to piss me off. I enjoyed the occasional 3.x hr WU a lot, now I enjoy the occasional 6.x hr WU the same LOL. When I move to a 1.5 GHz Palomino later this yer hopefully I can enjoy the 3.x hr WU again hehe. Dammit Rags gaining on me again

Production from me will probably drop off from Feb 25 as I'll be in California somewhere doing a HP/UX administration course, so I'll try to make as much hay now.
