  • seti@home on 2 computer, one is connected

i have more than one computer connected via lan, tcp/ip protocol enabled with addresses. only one computer is connected with the internet, via avm fritz card isdn.

i have tried the programm jana server(www.download.com) as an "proxy?". internet runs fine on both computers, but seti doesnt... it cannot connect. ok i have changed the proxy settings but with no result.

does anybody have such a program like jana (i dont mind to change it against another one) and could mail me the settings for seti ? internet isnt necessary on the second computer, but i need to connect via lan to the internet so i can pump my little 81 completed workunits a bit.

i donated all my wus to murc, so please help !

Have you tried setiQ or seti driver?

      I'll try.
First, if you've got a working Internet sharing with this Jana you "should" be good to go.

With the CLi Client, the command line should look like this: "seti.exe -proxy [IP-address of connected PC]:[port Jana uses for http].

If this doesn't help you, you have to be a bit more specific:
      OS?
      GUI or CLi?
      Browser?
      P5B Deluxe, C2D E6600, Scythe Ninja, G.Skill 2GBHX
      Raptor 150x3, Plextor PX-760SA, X-Fi Elite, 7900GT, 21" CM813ET Plus, CM Stacker

        my specs:

        win98se
        ethernet 192.168.66.x
        gui version of seti

        what is setiq ????

browser... ie5 on the secondary computer. i dont want to surf via the computer, this connection is only for seti and lan.
i dont mind to use another program instead of jana, i only want to use seti via lan.

SetiQ is a program that let's you cache WU's over a network (works as a proxyserver for seti)! Check out the guide at Pace's site!

EDIT: Follow the link in my sig.
