I like the new list - 10% loss is better than 50%...

Oh, the text-version is working now. Unfortunately, it's not up-to-date.

      Hmm 18,5% lost...

It looks like the more you've produced with old clients, the more you're losing...

Excuse me RD, but my genome@home listing 1000 shows the lowest being 5145...

Jorden, since you're not in top1000, you've got below 4500...

Jorden, the point with this whole thread is the NEW stats. I did a little mistake, since you had 4554,30 wu then it was last updated, Oct 18 15:49:15 PDT 2001.
Compared to the old stats, you'll lose 10,4%, or 528,48 wu.

To compare your old and new stats, either load the full list, or add a 2 after userpage to get the new personal stats; like this for Jorden:

            Ah yes, I see

Something else strange in those listings though. Did I have a computer in 1969?

Current rank: 1025 out of 12618 users
            Total units processed: 4554.30
            Total genes designed: 327
            Genoming since: Wed Dec 31 16:00:00 1969
Last unit returned: Wed Dec 31 16:00:00 1969 (PDT)

I was born on the 2nd of October 1969, and only 3 months later I was genoming already... yeah !!

This SUCKS! - I've about had it with this B.S.

I realize it's BETA software, however, if the units came from legitimate calcs based on info they fed us, then by rights it shouldn't matter whether a "Duplicate" was produced. Check the checksums, the ID of the box that submitted the result, and validate that everything "checks-out". Passing that, let the score stand.

If and when they can guarantee that their software will not generate duplicates (oh wait, they can't) then they can stop scoring for dupes.

I'm damned close to saying to hell with all the DC projects altogether.

I'll probably come around later, and regret this post, but 'tis what I'm feelin' right now.

My sentiments exactly Guyver! Thats how I felt a couple days ago when I frst read this and made a post and I haven't changed my mind yet. I could make a lot of extra Christmas shopping cash by selling my exrta machines It would be a lot less hassle too
But I've made sure all my clients are up-to-date and I'll wait asnd see how nonetting affects my output in the weeks to come. If it causes a loss in production (I'm already struggling to keep up with box so I don't get too far behind) then I will quit. I started genoming because I was so late starting SETI that there was no way I would ever make it up to the top ranks. Any other DC effort that is "sponsored" is out of the question for me.
Oh well- I'll wait and see as I don't want to give it up- I'm having to much fun trying to stay ahead of you and ATTEMPTING to catch back up to box
                    Pete

Well, don't know what good it might do, but for the moment I'm running without the -nonet commandline. Might be best for everyone to do so.
