  • crunching on linux

    hello,

i'm not very familiar with all the clients since i only crunched for distributed.net some years ago and only for a week.

but now i am gettin myself a nice c3 800 for my linux gateway/etc. to replace my p133. that box is running 24/7/365 anyway mostly idling. the c3 800 may not be the fastest chip (like cely 600) but is very cool (does need only a heatsink, no fan!) and needs 8W max! 5W when idling. so the 3W will not make a big difference in heat and my bill
that is the reason i am not crunching on my windows machine, the last thing i need in my low-noise low-cooled machine is heat! (this will change when i overlock my parhelia )

ok so now to my question: what project does have a linux console client? preferrably anything else than SETI, it is a waste IMHO (no offence to any SETI crunchers).

"Perhaps they communicate by changing colour? Like those sea creatures .."
    "Lobsters?"
"Really? I didn't know they did that."
    "Oh yes, red means help!"
