  • Really strange!!

I recently started to SETI again when I watercooled and uppgraded...

And I first I was impressed that the XP that was only 200Mhz chopped of 2 hours of a seti unit but now I have found out that running two setiunits at the same time does not degrade performance at all
It chugs out two units at the same time!
And it still takes 4 hours

What is it that I'm missing here?
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

Something isn't right there! ,which version of SETI are you running? CLi or GUI?

      CLI 3.03
      On W2K SP3.
I checked and both setiCLI's are getting about 50% cpu time and both has the same amount of time (+- 10%)

Note that I'm not really complaining
I just think that it so mysterious

My CPU is a Athlon XP1800 and I got 512MB of CL2 DDR....

      As I said strange

Very odd ,my XP 1550 @ 1.58GHz does WU's in 3-3.5hrs ,running another client would x2 WU times!

Ehm, is it run-time or cpu-time? In NT, the cmd-version is reporting cpu-time.
In other words, is you completing 2x wu in a day with running 2 instances, or is you still producing nearly the same numbers of wu?

Good point ,I'd forgotten about that ,I've noticed that SETI CLi WU times are not increased when run alongside games or something else hogging the cpu ,though production does go down of course!.
In Win9x WU times do go up under the same circumstances
