PROBLEMS please help mee!! please...

I try to install my Matrox G400max on my K6-2 350, on a Asus P5a with the newest bios, no IRQ conflicts!!! but when i have installed Win 98, and installed PowerDesk (5,13-5,30-5,41-5,50), AND directX 7.0, then the computer cant start!!
it will load windows until the "user logon" loge shows, then it change screenresolution, and show "ITS NOW SAFE TO TURN OFF YOUR COMPUTER"!!!..
WHY ?????
its EVERY time when i try to install the drivers, but it can start in fail safe mode!
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help mee!

remove all cards but video. boot. does it work?

If not, boot safe mode, delete duplicate references.

If that doesn't work, re-run setup from safe mode in the win98 directory. It might clean out a corrupt file but it wont trash your setup. I've done it before.

If re-install fixes it, add cards back in one at a time.

Thankyou!!! But it dosnt solve my problem!
I think my problem is a serius hardware error!...
When i flash my motherboard bios, there is a error in the programming, so it tell me there is a FAULT!
i think there is a problem in the bios with AGP stearing!
i will try... to get a new bios, but i will be glad to recive some support from other people who can give me some ideas !

Er, I don't want to belabor the obvious, but the P5A requires an agp mini-port driver from ali. If you haven't installed it, that could be the problem. G200 needs v1.60 or above, G400 needs ver 1.65 and the agp control applet. See
