  • Another win2k resolution problem

Is it possible to get the beta driver to work with higher resolutions then 1024x768 in multimonitor-mode.
I couldn't assign a second monitor so powerdesk assigns a default 1024x768 PnP second monitor. Now both displays work on a resolution of 1024x768.
Is it possible to overcome this problem.

    Thanks,
    Dennis

In the DualHead page, the maximum resolution available on the second monitor should be displayed. If your 2nd monitor is plug-n-play, there is nothing you can do to change the resolution. If your monitor is NOT plug-n-play, you should be able to set the max resolution to 1280x1024.

Strange, because the second monitor handles 1280x1024 on 85Hz very well...

The new 5.01 beta release will solve your problem: Dual-head is now enabled (withour registry hacks) up to 2560x1024 (2x 1280x1024) at 85Hz. Still not comparable with the 'real' Dual-head under W98 but we're getting there.
If Pnp is in the way (isn't it always ) you have to check your registry settings under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CURRENTCONTROLSET\Servic es\G400\Device0\
To get the maximum of 1280x1024 for your second monitor, the setting:
        D00.DualHead.Monitor2.MaxHeight should be 00 04 00 00
        and
        D00.DualHead.Monitor2.MaxWidth should be 00 05 00 00
