i'm using my g400 dual head in the multi-display mode and was wondering if there was anyway to get a different wallpaper or background screen color in the secondary monitor?

I don't think it's possible, although, have you ever tried to make a screenprint and see what you end up with in a photo-editor/PSP?
There's 2 screens next to eachother, right?
Ever tried to edit the right screen into something else, save it and use that as a background? I haven't yet.

you can get two wall papers.. but.. its kind of a messy solution..
first enable your dekstop to be seen as a web page..
assuming your screens are 1024x768, create an image file that is 2048x768 and insert two pictures.. with the halfway point at 1024 pixels. set that as your wallpaper, and voila!! two screens with two different backgrounds!!
