  • Saveing icon locations while upgradeing PD

I am wondering if there is a way to "save" the saved locations of windows icons in PD. Is there a way to upgrade PD versions without haveing to rearange the icons and resaveing, while doing the 'proper' way of uninstalling useing the Matrox utility?

I've had no problems upgradeing over an older version before, but I want to upgrade my VTs also. So I figue I might as well do thing the right way the first time.

    Thanks,
    Mark F.

Assuming you are currently using PowerDesk 6, perform the following steps:

Using the RegEdit tool, export the following registry key to a file:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matrox\PowerDesk\Versio n6\DesktopIconsFeatures

Uninstall your PowerDesk, reinstall your drivers, merge your saved reg file, then perform a Icon->Restore operation.

      PowerDesk 6 ???

Wow... !! Most of us non-BBs and BBs are still using Powerdesk 5.

Who are you to use Powerdesk 6?? Son of Matrox?

          Thanks

I was trying to avoid involving the registry. But as no one has come up with an other way, it seems that will be what I try.

            Show offs.

But, it's the same reg key for PD5; accept for the numbering of course.
