New PD Drivers bugged???

Everytime I install the New drivers i end up with problems, I can't even double click My computer, with out a Blue Screen comming up, so i've gone back to 5.41, nay ideas on this??

Athlon 600
256mg RAM
Microstar K7pro Motherboard
G400 MAX
Win98

How did you install the new drivers? Just on top of the old ones, or do you use the PD5.x Uninstaller as well??
