  • Powerdesk 5.01.019 Win2k and Hibernate

Did anyone get this to work? It used to work on my PC before I bought my SBLive! and my G400. (before I had a Diamond MonsterSound MX100, which was not supported in Win2K, and a RivaTNT2Ultra, running the default Win2k drivers for it).

In the SBLive! newsgroups is says that the LiveWare Drivers for the SBLive! (downloaded from Dell), work properly with hibernate, so I guess the problem lies with the g400 drivers? Can anyone confirm this?

When I select hibernate in the shutdown menu, the screen goes blank, but not much else happens. When I press Alt-F4 and then Enter, it gives a default windows sound through the SBLive!, so i guess something must have gone wrong while shutting down the videocard. The only way to get the pc to work is to restart. The eventlog viewer says nothing regarding the hibernation attempt.

    My system specs:
Abit BX6r2 with latest BIOS update
    Matrox G400 dualhead 32MB (driver 5.01.019)
SBLive! Player 1024 (dell Liveware 2.2)
    Adaptec 2940UW

I've got a slightly different problem:
I'm unable to resume from hibernate mode.
The Screen isn't restored and Windows 2000 crashes.
When I boot Windows 2000 in VGA mode, restore from hibernate works
    correctly.
I've got also a SBLive! and a 3Com network adapter.

The problem was solved when I reinstalled Win2K (same version). Now I know it is not the G400-drivers. It probably is the Dell-Liveware drivers causing my problem.

        Got the problem again...
I think it is Nero Burning ROM v4.0.8.3. that is causing the proble; It says something about Nero in the Event Viewer.

I will update this later when I get a response from my Email to Ahead Software

I have now determined for sure that NERO 4.0.8.3. is the culprit. Ahead is trying to get a fix for it :-)

Well, then another program might be the culprit on your machine. As soon as I deinstall Nero, Hibernate works perfect again...
