  • Bus mastering ON = System freezing any idea?

    Hello,

since I bought the Millenium G400 and all updated drivers I had to disable teh BUS Masteringotion or my system will hang and freeze in any application from time to time.

I got teh 5.52 drivers for it and disabled it as well.

Do youhave any idea why the freezing is hapenieng and or if it corrected in th 5.52 and what I am missing inperformance if I disable the Bus Mastering>?

    Thanksyou

I have never been able to get my G400 Max card running on my computer as yet.

It is a PIII 450 system running under Win NT. I also have Win 98 installed in the same machine where I could switch between the 2 at bootup time.

The card runs perfectly well with standard VGA drivers. However, the moment I load the Matrox drivers, it boots up to the NT login prompt. After loggin on, it freezes.

I have used various different older versions of drivers although I haven't played around too much with the setting on the software.

Can anyone please help me to get this going. At the moment I hate Matrox cards, although I have faith that it will run in the near future.

In the mean time I can only use the 16 colour VGA mode to run anything.

    Thanks,
    Rick.

have you used the uninstall from MATROX before changing drivers? You might want to try it, then reboot. and then install the drivers, while useing the VGA drivers. Which rivers you should install depends on what chipset you use. How about a little more info on your system and an IRQ list. Also if you have used other video cards first, you might need to use more rigurous meeds to remove any traces of them in your system; as this oftain can couse problems.
