Hi.
I've seen this problem mentioned elsewhere but so far nobody has a solution.
I tried to install the new Powerdesk 5.10 beta driver for Windows 2000 yesterday and all went belly-up!
At the end of the install I got an error message that the driver had been interrupted and there may be problems. I didn't do anything to cause this.
On reboot I was back to 640x320 screen size, 16 colours and no G400 drivers working.
Everytime from then I tried to install ANY version of the G400 drivers they would fail with the same error. I tried the Matrox uninstall util but that didn't help.
Eventually (and I don't know how) I managed to get the Powerdesk 5.04 to work.
Then my monitor had a problem in Device Manager, the dreaded '!'. I tried re-installing the .inf file for the monitor with the same error.
I got around that by deleting the .inf file(s) in the INF fold in Windows and the PC deicded I had a plug and play monitor.
Now today I have tried to install something else (another driver) and the same error has occured.
The 5.10 beta driver has obviously caused some major problem and I want to fix it.
Windows repair has failed to see anything wrong. Sometimes I get the error message that a file was not found and the installation was aborted.
This has been mentioned before - has anybody any idea how to fix it? It is driving me nuts and I REALLY don't want to have to re-install Windows 2000 because of this.
Thanks.
