  • widescreen with 2 monitors

    Eyo

When I run in dualhead mode with 2 screens, I got the hole desktop as a kind of widescreen look, with the "startmenu" over both screens, and when I maximize a window, it covers both screens.. someone knows how to change this so it works as in win98/me??
So that the startmenu is only on screen #1, and so on..and that when I maximize a window, it only appers on the monitor that the windows is in...
    thx..

Yes, you only have to rewrite the Win2k kernel so it supports two monitors on a single graphics chip.

Why ? Its works like in win98 .. Go to monitor icon in TRAY . Right Click -> Multi-Display COntrols and setup , what U need .. If U Put MAXIMIZE , window will maximize only in one window .. If U hold down shift key with maximalize , Window will maximize across 2 screens .. Its great ..

Yes, win2k supports multimonitor, but win2k's kernel doesn't support independent desktops from two heads on a single chip card. It has to do with the way the outputs are enumerated. All single chip, multidisplay cards have this limitation under win2k. Unless Matrox finds a way around this limitation, we will have to live with it.
