In case this helps anyone, I am using the Win2k 5.52.010 drivers to run my desktop across two monitors (XP drivers not yet available from Matrox; XP CD drivers don't support dualhead). On the Matrox Forum there was talk about problems. I was clued not to use the latest beta driver for the G400. Also, as a precaution I ran the setup program in the new Compatibility mode (right click setup.exe, choose Compatibility tab, then choose to run as a Win2k program). I haven't installed Edualhead (enhanced browser features) yet. More to follow.

What am i missing here? My G400max extends the desktop across two monitors just fine with the XP native drivers.=========================

Now I'm curious. I was anticipating problems because of what I had read. I didn't have any specific problem, other than I could not access dualhead features until Powerdesk was installed. How did you access them? There was no property sheet for it (as I recall) with just the native XP drivers on my machine.

Perhaps I'm still confused. If you mean by "DualHead" the ability to extend your desktop across two monitors, the drivers for the G400MAX that ship with Windows XP do that out of the box (see below):<p>

If you're including the additional features which come with PowerDesk, then, no, you'll have to wait for the updated driver set from Matrox.=========================

I stand corrected. I must have not seen the obvious, and freaked when I didn't see the extra property sheets. Anyway, I do like and use the other features (such as the hotkeys to switch windows from screen to screen; BTW using the hotkeys is the only way I can move the Hauppage WinTV window between monitors-- it wants to run only in the primary monitor and disappears if I attempt to drag it to the other monitor). For what its worth, the Win2k 5.52.010 drivers are still working fine. Thanks for the response.
P.S. Hey, how did you grab and paste the screen shot? [rookie question number 2]

Just use ALT + Print Screen then you can capture the active window.Main: Dual Xeon LV2.4Ghz@3.1Ghz | 3X21" | NVidia 6800 | 2Gb DDR | SCSI
Second: Dual PIII 1GHz | 21" Monitor | G200MMS + Quadro 2 Pro | 512MB ECC SDRAM | SCSI
Third: Apple G4 450Mhz | 21" Monitor | Radeon 8500 | 1,5Gb SDRAM | SCSI

What Keifront said. Then paste it into your favorite Graphic Viewer and save. I recommend IrfanView (IView). Free at http://www.irfanview.com/=========================
