I have the channels disabled (under the view pannel). It's always the first thing I disable after installing, right after I disable the annoying sounds, and that annoying ftp capture, and browser integration, allright so basicly it's the last thing I disable. Annyhow it's disabled.

I can second that the registered non-sponsored version of Go!Zilla comes free of the stupid Aureate crap.
I do have Monster Channels turned off too. And Browser Integration. And FTP Capture. And the sound effects.
<acronym title='FOSI appz has it for download. Hint: Altavista can help you pointing in the right direction just do a search for "fosi appz" (quotation marks included).'>
As a side note, if you cannot really afford to pay for it, you might as well move your mouse pointer over this text. </acronym>

Holly,
Why use PKZIP for Windows? There are more utilities supporting ZIP than stars on the sky here right now at 1:00am.
Some of them free and public domain even.
I'm statisfied with good old WinZip with the browser integration and the command-line support (for use in FAR) add-ons installed.

fds:
First, a message for you from TBoY:
Thanks for your considerate behavior!!! I've been there and done that
, which is how I solved my problem in the first place... but your HTML does not seem to be working
, and I don't know enough about it to know why. I do appreciate the ninja-like silence in which you move, though
... I prefer it be kept that way if possible.
(What is she talking about...?}
Anyway, I was using PKZip because I was transferring a lot of files between home and work, and I liked the way PK did "relative path"... and WinZip's options in that regard made no sense to me. But that tsadbot was annoying me, especially after this whole security/privacy issue came up, so now I'm using PowerArchiver, which is free. But I think I'm going to go back to WinZip after all, since we now have been getting .mim files at work, and only WinZip opens them reliably (which I admire).
Only the eval version at the moment...We'll see if my loyalty to it turns out to be fragile as an eggshell.. or not.
