"Cheese Food", also known as "Kraft Singles", are Cheese... only instead of Milk they contain... get ready... VEGETABLE OIL.

    EEEEEW!

They are to cheese what Margarine is to Butter. Similar flavors, completely different composition.

    So there you go.

    - Gurm

P.S. I almost forgot. Kraft's new marketing campaign for their cheese food is that they only use 2/3 vegetable oil... it has 1/3 milk! As opposed to the "leading brand", which uses ALL vegetable oil!

I always avoid any food that has the word food product in it; (you just don't know what you’re eating.

Too many chemicals are bad too.

How come this is reminding me of the content of a McDonalds hamburger that is not really 100%beef but they can call it that because what it is all-protean?

Or the times some McDonalds distributors were caught shipping and severing kangaroo meat in with the beef (when they were using all beef witch they aren’t doing now) any who my point is this just because it says one thing doesn’t mean that's what your getting. (It isn't lying until they get caught and fined.)

What are you all worried about a little bit of bad food??? Has it been so long since you've eaten at a dorm!?! If it has, lemme know next time you're in town and I'll take you to mine. The "hamburgers" (while they taste good) are most definately made out of rat meat and then they put some sort of cheesefood on top of it for the "cheeseburgers...."

It's the fake food that gets to me. And how the health advocates are always saying that you need to eliminate stuff from your diet.

Funny that margarine, which was supposedly SO GOOD for you, turns out to have such high amounts of trans-fatty acids that it'll give you a heart attack quicker than butter ever could.

Or that Nutrasweet causes brain damage and neurotransmitter malfunction.

And on another note... my wife has lost 25 pounds. How? Not by some fad diet or by eating fake food. Just by eating right and exercising.

Funny that the "nutrition" experts always include that as a caveat at the end, huh?

Hey Pat, you mean at UCLA....

I'm worried about next year living on my own. I think I'm going to be living on Cheerios with Beer!

To bring back the topic of cheese stuffs, we spent the entire lecture in anthro (human ev.) on the subject of lactose in/tolerance. I never could have cared that the fact that N. Europeans (who later migrated to America...) got the ability to eat/drink milk from the fact that they were wanderers from (anyone know this?)? I fell asleep during that part.... Hmmmm, what happened to me? Guess I was left out in that respect (not that I care as I have always hated milk)....

Hey, Dimi, I don't care where they came from (Caucasus Mountains, afaik)... I just wanna know how "wandering" from wherever they did so from "gave them the ability to eat/drink milk"?

Does that mean that when I migrate to the Netherlands I'll suddenly gain the ability to eat head cheese ? Or is my move too decisive for that, and I should pass by Finland first, then sorta zip back towards Greenland and sneak up on Holland from behind?

Someone forgot she ate head cheese with mustard?? Something I even shudder of??

Try it without the mustard next time and you might like it...

Holly, according to my professor, the fact that they were nomads has nothing to do with it (sorry if I was unclear last time). It's more that milk was a very important part of their lives (not sure why though - maybe it's easy to carry??? - if someone know, tell me please - maybe when I read the chapter I can put more info into this) and they began to retain the ability to digest lactose. The trait is still apparent by the fact that most Americans/N. Europeans are able to consume lactose. Feel free to correct me med people if you know why/better this is the case....

Dimitri who doesn't know what he's saying, but it might be makin sense....

BTW, should we bring the monster cheese thread up so we can add this to the history/evolution of man and cheese?

                              No, we should not.

But thanks for playing our game, there, Dimi...
