What I want to know is the GOV going to pay up for their mistake. I.e. are they going to pay the owners for homes and business lost due to their mistake?

I suppose i should be glad that we are in 'rainy' old England
I may pop by later on today and see if they have a sale on.The Welsh support two teams when it comes to rugby. Wales of course, and anyone else playing England

Here's what I was doing this weekend. My wife and I went up to a neighbor's property in the Pecos Mountains which was partially destroyed by the huge 30,000-40,000 acre fire.
This shows how close the flames got to their cabin. The little valley the cabin and barn/stables are in was saved by a quick backburn on both sides.
This is the ridge across from the cabin. Beyond the small peak it looks like a 'Nuke' went off. There are very few trees standing. The ones you see in the foreground are pretty much dead. We cut quite a few down on this trip. The stream was silted up by ash but there are still a few trout that survived.
Most off the work we did was to place 'waddles' 'sp?' on the slopes to prevent errosion. They are 30 foot long tubes of hay which must be placed in a shallow trench and then staked down. I kept thinking of Bratwurst and beer the whole time...LOL
Another load on the way...LOL.. This was the fun part.
And the last part is to spread grass seed on the already protected slopes.
