Well we got stuffed and no complaints. What I can say is Murc held is head and this thread didn't get embrobled in some of the nonsense that eufa came out with in the last few days.
What I can say is say it is WRONG THAT ANY SUPPORTS CAN RESORT TO VIOLENCE WETHER LOSING OR WINNING.
The culture of football violence needs to stop. Whowever is involved. You can't say one is having a party and the other is isn't.
This thread about football is a good example of what should happen. I've got a horrid feeling that politics got involved and this solves nothing!!!

Holland sure does have some great actors in their team.
All the soccer players are just big babies and whiners. They just don't have the will to play the game, but instead they fall over and start to cry if an opponent comes within 4 metres. It seldom needs a body contact to knock down a professional soccer player.
Occationally there is a penalty, but usually they just make fools of themselves. Maybe they don't realize how well the TV's instant reply shows what really happened..
Well I think the football lesson to be learned is the amount of cheating going on. My solution is:
Do not penalise any players for attempting to cheat the referee during the game. This leads to a situation where the referee has to make some hard decisions. When a player falls in the penalty area the referee will usually feel pressured into either booking the attacker or awarding a penalty and penalising the defender. There are many accidental clashes in the box and all too often we see referee's booking the felled attacker. What should be done is that if is not decided that a penalty should be awarded then video evidence should be used afterwards to see if the attacker was attempting to 'win' his side a penalty or force the referee into booking or ordering off the player. If so, then the attacker should be told that he is either getting a post-match booking, a suspension for the next game or something worse. The TV shows us that cheating goes on constantly and if it goes on much longer the sport will be spoiled. Video evidence will show the true happenings and harsh punishment should be taken on this.

And with regards to the violence I think that calling it football hooligans is a little too much - many football fans can cause trouble but there are a large contingent of English (and others) who just use the football games as a meeting ground for violence - we need to make sure that these people don't get into the country. Many of them aren't getting into the games but that won't bother them - they are just there to cause trouble - or rather have a good fight and show that their country is the most brutal.
Why do defenders do arsehole things late in the game. Like in the last England game bringing a player down in the 89th minute. In last nights game moving to one side sticking a leg or hip out or would have deflected the ball.
If I were his manager I'd have his balls for breakfast.
