  • Humbug to you Btinternet

Mmm couldn't get onto btinternet so I logged onto my other isp and went to there website where it said everything was okay. I thought I'd check my Btinternet mail (Never really use it)and there sitting there was a message saying please use a dialer software or otherwise you get charged.
Now if you're dialing an 0800 number how do you get charged. I emailed them back asking this and in the meantime I browsed there site and it says. If you don't want to use our Btinternet connection software you can do it yourself like this! Just the way I did it since win2k likes having the dialer for breakfast sometimes.
Anyway looking forward to there response if any and my phone bill if they do try to charge me (Which I don't think will they do). If they do they'll be a few Bt staff going round with there ISP servers stuffed where the sun don't shine.

BTInternet are getting on my nerves too - the other day I could connect if I got someone to dial on a BT Line, or on my Vodafone mobile, but if I tried using my telewest cable phone line, for ages, all I got was 'Sorry, this number is not available'. Aaarrgghh!! are they gonna stop everyone non-BT using it?

Sooo... everyone moves to Telewest's Blue Yonder, and overloads it.... Argh! I almost feel like winning the lottery and getting UUNET to fit a leased 10mb line...

NTL have real live dummies you can actually talk to and get absolutely nowhere. I've eventually got my second line installed for my PC, and guess what it, is so noisey I can't get my PC to connect to any ISP.

I think the whole UK telecom industry is a disgrace not just BT. NTL is just as bad, in February they announced their toll free internet access that would be launched April 17 as it supposedly was, I say supposedly as I've yet to recieve the software so I can access it. Oh and you have to sign up to a particular package they have to be entitled to this "free" service. I've just had an email from them saying the delivary of the software will now be delayed until the end of August and they have the nerve to then give me a page full of crap telling me how wonderful they are. Basically it's all nothing more than a con to get people to sign up with them, advertising a service they cannot provide.

Wow NTL get even better. I actaully got to talk to someone this evening after spending 55 minutes on hold to report my faulty line. However I was unable to report the line as faulty though as according to NTL the line has not yet been installed, and they won't allow me to report the line as faulty until they can arrange for it to be installed!?!?!?

Ant can't you tell them to piss off and try someone else. They can't charge you for removal if they haven't fitted anything. Hold on I know why your 2nd line is niosy it's just an empty peice of pvc cable coating.

Sounds almost like something called Libertysurf. The were available in Holland, and should still be available in the UK, but all of a sudden, after a lot of us Dutchmen and -women signed on for their free surfing times (weekends and some weekdays), the bosses at LS thought it was going to be too heavy for them, and bailed out.

We're supposedly not a country of people that click adverts too much, so income was low, and them paying for our phone-clicks was not paying up.

I had to download a program for it, got an email address on the side and all that shit more. At least I had the right free weekend, for as far as I understood, Hunsow never got his free weekend, as the free-phoneline was already disconnected ( )

The other free provider here is a free provider with free access, for as much as 2 hours online, before you're disconnected... Fun when you're downloading something big
