Ok, just for the record...
Apparently there is some kind of culture gap, since nobody seems to share my musical tastes in here. Funny how that goes, huh?
If you actually enjoy reggae, a funny album to download (I'd never BUY anything by these guys) is Dread Zeppelin. Very cool stuff. Lead singer thinks he's Elvis' illegitimate love child.
Stuff I'd recommend you try out, if you're looking to broaden your musical horizons:
Industrial/Metal:
- Rammstein
- Zombie (Rob, White, or other...)
- Godsmack (irritating at first, then grows on you like a bad case of athlete's foot)
- Nine Inch Nails (the first album, before Trent Started pushing the "noise" and "swear" buttons alternately)
Rap:
- None
Country:
- None
Pop:
- Almost none, at least none I could name right now. Michael Jackson was cool before he had that "race-modification" surgery.
Jazz:
- Spyro Gyra (ALWAYS)
- Bela Fleck (yes, it's jazz even if it has a banjo!)
- NO KENNY G. Under no circumstances should that man be allowed to perpetuate the myth that he plays jazz ANY LONGER.
Ambient, Etc.:
- Enya (*sigh*)
- Enigma (latest effort is improved from the previous album)
Non-Categorized:
- Sting (nobody pick on me, he's an INCREDIBLE musician. plus anyone who can have sex for 10 hours straight has to at least be a minor deity)
And finally, the shameless plug for my favorite musician of all time:
- Edward Gerhard (acoustic guitar music, incredible stuff really. not irritating or too mellow... just right for listening in the car or in the bedroom...)
Gurm
P.S. I haven't even touched on classic rock, I'm just saying what's in heavy rotation in my cd player right now.

Listen up, you primitive screwheads! See this? This is my BOOMSTICK! Etc. etc.The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!
I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
I would still get screwed

I listen to anything really, except for country and clone pop. (Young blond skinny females are getting cloned and forced to sing tunes all about how horny they are. )
Some groups I like:
Filter (pretty much based on one good bass riff), much later goo goo dolls, Blink 182, Eve 6, selected Beck, selected third eye blind, match box 20, blind melon, Everclear, selected rem, Bare Naked Ladies, bit of delirium/enya/skinhead o'conner, local bands like great big sea, celtic connection. Of course I also have selected 80s tunes for nostalgia, some U2, George Thorogood, Billy Idol, Stray Cats, John Cougar, Brian Adams, etc. Then there are the classics from the doors, the who, led zepplin, p.floyd etc.
Sometimes I even have dance music on, couldn't tell you one "band" from another though.

cjolley - LOL I guess I better be careful how I say stuff around here.
Since the original topic mentioned reggae, I'm disappointed (but not surprised) that no one mentioned The Grateful Dead. Back in my youth I attended over 100 of their live shows. There's actually two albums where several reggae groups (Wailing Souls, Mighty Diamonds, Steel Pulse, Chalice, Judy Mowatt, etc.) cover Dead songs. They are actually quite good.My rig: P4 3.0GHz; Asus P4C800E; 1GB DDR 3200; AIW Radeon 9800 Pro; WD 120GB SATA; Plextor DVD burner; Liteon DVD reader; Audigy 2ZS; Logitech Z560 4.1; NEC FE991SB
