Looks like Jorden watches too much of the Discovery channel! You know WAY too much about mosquitos.

      Hi, dZeus.

This is for your mosquito problem. I've heard from my grandma that the best way to keep out mosquito, apart to be dead, is to have a little...
Uhm, don't know how to tell it in english, so ask a translator to translate this: "pianta di basilico".
They say that also mint work.
Sat on a pile of deads, I enjoy my oysters.

I've got a net around my bed, a klamboo (I wonder if that's correct English, but you know what I mean ), and it does the job quite well.
Maybe Xenos has a store on Mars too ?

I heard this recently. "If you are bittten by a mosquito, don't smash it. Or 100 will come to it's wake". Or some such.

Of caurce we don't have to wory much around here with finding mosquitos. We call them the state bird.

Actually, it was an Aesop's Fable, IIRC. There's a fox and there are 100 mosquitos on its tail and another fox comes up and says "why don't you kill those mosquitos" and the first fox says "because then 100 more shall take their places, and with the blood I've already lost, I shall surely die!"

            Or words to that effect.

Okay, translated for Drizzt, and anyone else that was wondering-

              "pianta di basilico"

              becomes (literal translation, using AltaVista):

              "plant of basil"

So I guess that means that the spice, basil, helps keep away mosquitos? Anyone ever tried that before?

Thinking about Fawlty Towers, I'd rather have that Basil keep my mosquitos away from me

But errrm, wouldn't garlic help better? Oh no, that was something completely different ... (like your girlfriend... )

Jord was right - citronella does work well against mosquitoes (at least it works on French ones and African ones).
I think thats the word in English, although it could be franglais...

There is no English word for citronella. We just never bothered to translate it, and it's marketed as "citronella". Hehe.

Whoda thunk it? A "hello" thread gets hijacked and is turned into a lesson about camping in the woods...

I can't believe such things happen in TSB...

Just out of curiosity, what's the highest number of posts for a thread in TSB before being taken off topic?
