I think Ant sums the situ up perfectly on his homepage. He makes a good point about opengl performance.
Hopefully Matrox will get the G800 out asap and that the marketing poeple this time get it right.

That's an easy one to answer: buy a G400/DH 16MB and save LOTS of money for nearly the same features and better performance!

No, the G450 is simply much too expensive, not garbage but not worth it's price when compared to the competition - if you can call Matrox' own older products "competition"

After having used the G450 for about a week now one thing I can say for sure is that it is not a piece of garbage. It may not have the fastest frames per second in 3D games but it is no slacker either. 2D image quality IMO is even better than that of the G400, which I didn't think could be possible. And the dualhead implimentation...need I say more?

No, this card is not an upgrade for the hardcore gamer but that is not what Matrox produced it for. Did marketing screw up? Yeah I believe they did. Is the retail price being advertised too high? I believe it is. Is this a good upgrade for some? I believe that all depends on your circumstances.

Impressive? Are you Impressed by the G450????

Can you buy one yet? NO, now thats pretty funny. I do think they have the Box ready.

A Business card. What the hell is that? Who else makes a business card? This is a brand new definition of a graphics card. Why did all the gaming sites get one for review?

A cheaper produced G400, thats what it is. Its a G399. Its going to be a fine card at sub $100 prices. And I know plenty of users that this card will work for. The same users that would use a G400.

I bet the next card will not be called G800. Matrox will call it G500. Its even sounds better. I bet its around 400.00 also.

There is no reson to doubt that Nvidia will get the 2d of their cards up to par with Matrox in time. They have all the cash and ex-Matrox employees to do it. My take on the G450.
