    Hi,
I was reading the update about the G450 on the main page and I got miffed... What the hell is Matrox doing? This site was
(and to a degree still is) the main tech support for Matrox products on the web. Damn, when I got my G200 (right after it came out) this was the only tech support I could get, including phone or email. This place rocks!!! There is no better place to get info, ideas and quick responses to questions.
Yes, in recent times the tech support has gotten better (Haig is great) but please, that was plain rude not getting Ant a G450 in time to check out and report on. This site (in my opinion) saved Matrox's shorts in the support department when they dropped the ball.
I needed to rant about this...

    Later,

For as long as I can remember Matrox PR and Marketing have given Ant the brushoff when new hardware is released. Big mistake for all Ant has done for them over the years.
It just shows how out of touch the PR and Marketing departments really are at Matrox. The only good thing they have going for them is what Haig has done for Tech Support.

I have to agree with you somewhat there. Because for me it was Matrox's tech support that actually pointed me to the MURC in the first place. I called them about some problems relate to the Millennium I and the m3D working together and the tech person I spoke to, at the time, gave me the MURC's url for additional resourses.

So what is the history of MURC? Is Ant the founding Father? Was GA always the host? When did this madness all begin? Am I just asking mundane questions. Can I stop posing questions? Is this the end of my post?

I joined the Forums back when I was using a Matrox Mystique and an M3D(Please don't throw anything at me...LOL) waiting in anticipation for the release of the G200...

A gentleman know as Flangor StrongAxe hosted the Forums. Lately he goes by T'kul Bastile.
              ARRR!!! Ye Old Bandwidth Pirate!!!

Here's the link to his old site -
http://mfactor1.matroxusers.com/ and a fine Hardware site it was....

Anyway, he felt that he was no longer able to devote the time needed to support both his web site and host the Forums. So, he turned it over to Ant. I don't remember the date when Ant took over. Anyone else remember the dates for these events.

Gee thanks Paul ! Now I can soak up a bunch more time going back in time and reading some of the old tiffs. Just when I thought I might get something else done besides living the MURC .

Jorden, the GAGames site contains the same forums as the MFactor-1 site.

I remember the good day when Ant changed the default number of days posts to 5, down from something silly like 30.

                            I was on a 28.8 modem then!

How come it doesnt seem any faster, and Im on ADSL now? I think those adds might be slowing the whole world down.
