  • Railways in crisis What crisis

I think what we should be saying in the uk is that the railway system has collasped. It's a good example of what happens when services are run for profit.
Later I'm going to be anti social and drive home from work I could use public transport but that sucks. Normally I do walk but I had to start early today.

Actually it's an example of what happens when there is no competition. Look at Microsoft, no real innovations in years.

It's amazing, who would have thought that someone could make a bigger hash of it than BR, but they have. I pitty the poor people in the South East of England forced to use Connexe makes me glad I have a motorbike
When you own your own business you only have to work half a day. You can do anything you want with the other twelve hours.

Would now be a bad time to privatise air traffic control? Our Gov't doesn't seem to think so...

After the outrage over fuel prices which were a little unfounded in my opinion (ok, so everyone else disagrees with me ) then this comes along after the current rail catastrophe (and I do mean it's catastrophic).

It's getting slowly worse. Rail tickets are being rationed on Gner. One ticket out and one ticket back and even then theres no guarentee that the train will run.

Well ScotRail this morning actually improved - on paper that is! They said they had lifted a speed restriction on the line between the Glasgow and Edinburgh, cutting journey times by 10 mins down to 1hr 5 mins (still above the 'usual' of 48m). Doesn't do much good when the train is 15 minutes late though...
