Dude, they will give you some good painkillers when they are gone. Here's my warning - you will be high as a f***ing kite. But you won't feel high. You'll feel GREAT. DO NOT kid yourself.

I went to work the day after having mine out - my boss called my wife after about an hour and said "COME GET HIM, NOW!"

Apparently I was gleefully inflicting grievous harm on the servers.

Pace I know a local gorilla who'll do it very quickly. Just say hello to his girl friend and you'll have the op done in seconds.

ROFL, TP. But then he'll still need painkillers, and be off work etc. for about a week or 2, because of the skin-colourations

Pace, these teeth, are they normal ones, or wisdomteeth?

                I bet they are wisdomteeth...

My sister has been through the same thing, and the dentist told me that I should get some teeth removed too... when I asked him if that was needed for cosmetic reasons or medical, he said mainly cosmetic. That's why I thought: to hell with it! Too bad if it barely fits into my mouth!

But good luck Paul! I hope you won't suffer for too long from the surgery

apart from the post op pain, some people get a massive amount of facial swelling & bruising . me thinks having 2 out at one visit( hence 2 visits needed) the kinder option.
hope all goes well for you Pace!

Don't go on about wisdom teeth. I've been told that mine haven't come through and that there on the way out.
Still I could talk to that gorilla's girlfriend again.

Come on Pit, it's not too awful. I have 2 wisdomteeth out, have had them for about 10 years, and although they grew toward my back molars, they apparently stopped growing. I'm not afraid of the dentist, but very afraid of that doc in the hospital who wants to cut them out. Had that once, and will never do it again !!

I'll let them be. They're not harming me, so why would I harm them?

Don't sweat it. I had all 4 wisdom teeth removed at one time with a local anastetic.
Just follow the Doc's instructions afterwards (no smoking!) and you will be fine.

Thanks for the sympathies and tips

It all went ok, lots of infection in my gum though so that had to be scraped out etc, so I'm in a little more discomfort than is normal!

They didn't give me any painkillers to take home, but gave me a few 'purple' drinks to ease the pain. I'll be taking my own painkillers soon enough no doubt. My face is like a hamster though, little pouches of swelling at the back of my cheeks! Not much discolouring or bruising though. They are wisdom teeth btw.

And Chuck, I once had an abcess which was removed under local anaesthetic - and I was genuinely squirming and squealing with pain! You can bet I wasn't going to do through that again, despite the fact that going under general a'tec is a little scary.

And Gurm, I've already infliced some slight damage to my PC, guess I wasn't quite strong enough to lift it earlier, DOH!

I'll probably be in bed these next couple of days, trying to get back to normal before Christmas, but thanks for your concern

                          Paul.

Ah, those little orange pills that make you dream while awake.. what fun!

When I had mine out, I remember waking up during the procedure.. the nurse was pestering the dentist about going to play raquetball with her later.. as he was drilling one of the teeth out! I slid my hand out and smacked her on the ass for trying to distract him.. she got quiet for a bit and then said "He hit me." If I hadn't been so zonked out with a drill deep in my mouth I would have laughed hysterically! As I was leaving she made eye contact with me and I didn't give a clue that I knew what had happened

Yeah I was told that as I came too in the recovery room I was grabbing at every nurse that came close enough to my bed. Of course I don't remember it.

                              Get well soon!!
