Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! When I said adult sites, I meant XXX sites. I think its remarkable that you can do a search on a famous physician, and still get links to porn.

I searched for about a half hour, and found an image of a book cover with a photo of a kid with Burkitt's lymphoma. I didn't find any "number 2" photos.

Hotbot is good for power searches, but you might find yourself wading through nonsense for a long time.

      Sorry about the misunderstanding, Patrick.

I hit Google first. I prefer it over all other search engines. It's more concise than Hotbot, but Hotbot is a power search engine and might get you more hits when searching academic subjects.

Patrick, this is a long shot. I know Burkitt was writing for the journal, "Cancer" in the early Seventies. It's published by a former employer, John Wiley & Sons. They, or possibly another journal, may very well have the copyright on these photos, and that's why our searches are not turning anything up.

Wiley's UK offices are in Chichester. You might want to call them and see if these photos exist in some sort of electronic form.

I checked Cancer's site, and they don't seem to have anything online published before 1990.

I'm thinking that a university librarian would be a good place to start, however.

The problem with researching Burkitt is that he's a famous guy who wrote a popular book. There's just a ton of useless or redundant information about him on the web.

If anyone wants to help, I believe we're searching for clinical photographs from Mulago Hospital, Kampala, Uganda. (Patrick, please correct me if I'm wrong.)

This is the citation for the famous Cancer article: Burkitt, D.P. Epidemiology of cancer of the colon and rectum. Cancer 1971; 28:3-13.

All I can find is articles and pictures of Burkitt's Lymphoma, but I don't think that's needed, is it?

Take photos of your own!! Apply a touch of sepia in Photoshop to make it look old...

                            No don't - that's disgusting. I can't believe I even mentioned it out loud!

For the simple minded, non-native-English-speaking people out here, who are also hampered by being at work, so they can't ask their girlfriend... errm, what are "stool samples" ??

                                ???
