Netherlander confesses to Anna virus
A virus writer in the Netherlands known as OnTheFly has admitted he wrote the Anna Kournikova virus. Apparently, he used the easily available Vbs Worm Generator to make the virus. The director of the Symantec AntiVirus Research Center said that Anna would, "be more widespread than Melissa but less than the LoveBug," A writer for The Register, however, doubts the seriousness of the worm.
OnTheFLy posted his opinion that, "I never wanted to harm the people who opened the attachment. But after all: it's their own fault they got infected." According to his post, he created the virus to prove that people were still vulnerable to viruses.
