Need opinions

Hello to all lord of the ring fans.

i want to read the books again before the movies come out, and i would like to do this in english (only german so far). now i heard that there are (big?) differences between some of the english pulications of the books. Which one is the best?

There is?! Damn... have to find some info about it then. I only have the Dutch copies, read an english version, but gave it back (*dumb*)
