taste seems to be just about the same everywhere, most of the movies i know and like
some of them (id4, rock) are not really great movies (compared to magnolia, american beauty), but they are definitley fun to watch every now and then, preferably on a big screen with sourround.
question for americans:
how well known is the big lebowski over there, and what do yall think of it (just interested)

Aladdin is good... Very good.
One of my favourites; "Men, Women; A Users Manual" (at least, I think that's the proper translation of the original title: "Hommes, Femmes; Mode 'd emploi"
The path I walk alone is endlessly long.
It's 30 minutes by bike, 15 by bus.
Puni puni poemi

schorsch - Nightwatch is an OK movie... but no way near as good as the danish original (Nattevagten)

The Rock - Heat.... which one? I can think of at least 3 movies called Heat, and not all are equally good! But I assume the one with DeNiro and Pacino right?

CanĀ“t believe I forgot Shawshank Redemption (one of my favorite movies of all times)

If a kid asks where rain comes from, I think a cute thing to tell him is "God is crying." And if he asks why God is crying, another cute thing to tell him is "Probably because of something you did."

Any movies featuring women in prison are the best!!! (especially when they do body cavity searches!)

Chris, I meant the Danish original - it was shown in German cinemas as "Nightwatch" (please don't ask me why they had to choose an English title for a Danish movie in German cinemas ). I saw the Hollywood remake with Ewan McGregor and Nick Nolte once, and I agree that the original is much better.
By the way, another great movie from Denmark is "I Kina Spiser De Hunde" . This one is almost in the Tarantino league - very funny, very violent and quite bizarre. Strongly recommended.

schorsch.... If you liked "I Kina spiser de hunde" I can strongly recommend "Pusher" and "Bleeder", both starring Kim Bodnia (the guy playing the bigbrother in "I Kina spiser de hunde"), and both also very violent and bizzare.

PS: To those who donĀ“t understand danish:
"I Kina spiser de hunde" = "In China they eat dogs"

You need to watch the movie to understand the title i guess

Nobody said "Pulp Fiction". A few said "The Mummy"(lousy movie). I am deeply dissapointed.

The "Boondock Saints" is very good
