God, I am so glad the MURC exists!

I go off and start reading other forums and realize how lame most of them are. Everyone bitches and complains about every little fricken thing going on in there world. I know, people bitch here to but most of the time everyone is positive and keeps up good spirits and shows mutual respect to everyone. Please pat yourselves on the back for a job well done in being civilized.

So am I.... has any one here tried to stick with any other forum... I tried and couldn't get past a week... I stopped going to forums and after about a year I thought to myself.. hell I just got an old computer with an even older matrox card.. why not stop by here to see if anyone has info on it... and low and behold.. I am sucked back in...

Funny you should mention this Dave. Was thinking that myself the other day as I do frequent an Abit MB forum. Much higher level of intelligence here.

Some forums seem to pride themselves on ignorant and mis-spelled posts though they have spell checkers.

I visit a lot of different forums (or is that fori ?), but MURC is different, it's almost like stepping into a log cabin with a roaring fireplace and a bunch of old friends, after having walked through a blizzard.

Yea, other forums can be a good laugh, insightful or other, but MURC has that community spirit - a sense of belonging, and a real quality admin

There aren't many web communities around like this, much less a hardware orientated one (anyone read [H]Forum ).

Yeah, this forum is great. I regularly visit only 3 forums. One is MURC and others are two slovenian forums: one about hardware (http://www.slo-tech.com/) and another about gaming an lanparties (http://www.slo-lanparty.com/) which I help to manage.

I frequent the CloneClinic, which deals with cd-copy issues. But everyone there just wants to know how to pirate games, which isn't the purpose of the clinic at all.

MURC is the only long-term intelligent and friendly forum (intelligent and friendly on rye bread, with some mayonnaise!) I've found.

I've tried to get into some other forums throughout the years, but MURC is by far the best of them all. It has one of the brightest groups of people I've found assembled anywhere.

A saying goes something like, "The collective IQ of a group is the lowest IQ of any single member in the group divided by the number of people in the group." I have found this saying to hold true, or at least come close, in most internet discussions I have seen. MURC, though, violates it. I think the collective IQ of MURC is an additive, rather than divisive, quantity.
