Back in my junior year of high school, I had a job in the Dean's office as a runner. It was a big, 4 story high school with a Junior College on the top floor. Got me out of home room and study hall, so it was pretty cool. One of my jobs was to pick up absentee slips from the teachers classrooms.

My best friend Dave and I used to like unscheduled days off. The next morning, I would sort the absentee slips for the Dean and remove Dave's and my slips, use the punch machine to give us a "one punch" excused absence to hand in to each class.

One day we were really cool. We cut for the day and rode around the school, waving at our friends. Our shop instructor saw us and called the Dean.

The next day I went into the office as usual. As I sorted the absentee slips, I couldn't find any of mine or Dave's. Strange. The Dean called me into his office and said, while waving our absentee slips in his hand, "are you looking for these." He sent for my buddy Dave, called our parents and we got an unpaid vacation for 3 days and grounded for a spell.
