It's an OK game, a bit too light on the story part and sometimes a bit frustrating to control. The graphics are really impressive, otherwise it's basically the same as any of Westwood's previous five RTS offerings. That's fine by me because I liked them all to some extent.
Now you tell me what does BFD mean other than Battle For Dune.

I'm referring to _any_ Matrox card, because all we know that is official is whats released (G400, G450, G550). Doesn't matter who claims to know what next thing M is doing, because its not available and there isn't any info on it (and from M's current trends, their next card will also be bottom of the barrel 3d). Doesn't mean we can't get surprised, but theres no point in speculating... its kinda like saying 3dfx will get back together and you can buy their V6-9000 in 2010 and it'll run the game just fine. :P
So yes, I do mean you won't be able to use a Matrox card in there unless you enjoy low-res low-detail gaming. Any "future" cards are irrelevant.

Emperor: Big F'ing Deal! This game reeks, the interface is clumsy, and it's unstable as hell. It'll invariably lock the computer up with the sound looping after a playing for 30 minutes, yet I can play Deus Ex and Counter-Strike for hours without a problem. The AI is far too "computerized", in that it manages to control each and every unit as if it were it's only unit while you're stuck trying to fight the interface just to watch your own units get slaughtered. Basicly, this is Dune 2000 3D.

I'm not under an NDA. I'm under a KMAA (Kick My Ass Agreement). It's where Matrox kicks my ass if I say anything. Hehe.

I disagree, John P...at least some of it. I have been playing Westwood RTS games since Dune 2, so I have no problems with the interface. It's a lot easier to use rather than clicking on a building or remembering obscene amounts hot keys like all the other games. In a battle and need more units...just click the unit build menu and the unit. No need to be at base.
The crash and burn thing...it's because the game is so damn demanding. My computer chokes after about 1.5-2 hours. I think it may be due to a memory leak, but I'm not sure. Emperor was designed for a beefcake computer...Dues Ex and CS are built on older engine technology. I'm sure the problems will be hammered out in the next patch.
As for Dune 2000...this game is MUCH better than that POS!
