Well a mechanic had rerouted an Ht lead in pecular manner so I thought I'd untwist so I pulled it off the dizzy and guess what the top of the dizzy broke off.

Yup, 'dizzy' = distributor or whatever the darn spelling is. They're usually made of a high temp plastic/bakelite type substance and can be brittle if twisted the wrong way

Like you wouldn't believe, the down side of learning Japanese is my decreasing ability to spell words in English.

I didn't twist it just got hold of the rubber sheeving and pulled and the top came striaght off.

cjolley I concur I also spotted another crack so I was glad it broke while it was on my drive. Still it first time I've seen that happen.
