    That's the bad part about the Song of Fire and Ice series, it has taken 4 years for the first 3 books, might take ages before it finishes.

        The Dragonlance saga is a classic, but it does not reach the Martin books IMHO.

          Drizzt, thanks. I was just gonna mention those guys! The Death Gate Cycle series was really good imho and the Darksword series was funny!

          Of course LOTR is included in my list of must reads fantasy novels. I'm workin on gettin Ria to read them now.

          TWoT is good, but as stated starts to lag past book 4 or so. Just hurry up and finish it Jorden!

          Another EXCELLENT series in my opinion albeit somewhat difficult at times (such as page 1 of book 1) is A.A.Attanasio's Dragon and the Unicorn series. The cover of book 3 - The wolf and the crown - got me interested in the series because I LOVE wolves....

          I have to add Feist to my list of good fantasy too.
