Whoa! Let's not get into whether or not homosexuality is a "defect".

If you use a strictly genetic and medical interpretation, it likely is (it fails to propagate the species, therefore...) - but don't say that in public!

      Edit:

P.S. HOLLY DON'T KILL ME! I SAID _STRICT_ GENETIC INTERPRETATION!

Why not?? They are always claiming that they were born that way and it is something that they can not change so as such they should have all this protection as a minority group.

Hell I'm going bald which is something I didn't ask for and can't help so should I be given special protection because of it. Should bald people be given minority status. Think about it. I know, I know, but you are going to say that there are things that can be done to correct it. Well......

But I don't think we can help dj.....LOL

Joel, go to your manager and tell him that you are a disadvantaged minority (follicly impared) and tell him how diversity is a wonderful thing in the work place and that once a year you want to have a follicaly impaired recognition week and put posters of bald people all over the workplace.

It's Gay, lesbian and transgender week where I work. They even have posters up for a Gay Rodeo....I better stop....LOL

I went out with this girl that i'd met at a party. I later found out that she was the president of the university lesbian association.

                Joel,

They're f***ed by their own logic. If it is something you're born with that means it's genetic. If it's genetic, and doesn't propagate the species (in fact it INHIBITS otherwise good genes from entering the gene pool) then it's a defect.

If it's a genetic defect, it can of course be "corrected".

Now imagine the horror on the faces of gay activists everywhere when parents elect to make sure that their kids are born straight...

If memory serves there have been reports of links between mutations in the loci that control testosterone and homosexual males. The idea being that as testosterone 'masculinises' the fetal brain and that too little testosterone would result in a female brain in a male body.

Not something that i would want to mention in an exam however!
