This is why I left small shop computer repair and went corporate. "Sorry, sir, but that software is not supported, I'll haft to remove it."

"You can't take that off my computer!"

"Sir, it's not YOUR computer, it's the companies computer, and I get paid to maintain it. That means if I find a non-standard application on a company computer that conflicts with the operations of a business aplication, it goes bye-bye and there ain't jack you can do about it."

      !"#¤%&/()=?`@£${[]}><|?

The bigger budgets are fun to play with as well. The only problem with corporate is you run in to the @$$holes who think you should kiss his @$$ at all times.

Did I ever told you the story of my neighbour who wanted to return his shiny new Sony monitor because after he upgraded from a G400 to a GF3 something went wrong and his monitor was out of focus? Oh wait I already did

Jurrasic Park 3 is really good... way better than the second one by a large margin and I would almost say better than the first one.

I didn't think J3 was better than the first. It was however pretty good. I just think it needed to be longer.

                        It didn't really kill it.

Go to Control Panel/System/Advanced and under Startup and Recovery/Settings uncheck Automatically restart.
Now you can be happy, you've got your BSOD back

Im not going to use the POS, but thanx for the tip.

But it was rather easy to figure out that the microsoft TNT2 drivers was crap.

MS drivers are generaly crap, strangly enough their IDE drivers are rather decent....

                          ------------------------------------------

and at work we are trying to make the most unergonomical workstation usable.

                          but the boss is complaining.

He actualy seems to enjoy watshing us twist and bend to reach everything.

the monitor is 1.8 meters above the flor, the mouse is 1 meter belove the keyboard (1.5 meters above) and atleast 1 meter avay from it.
the monitor is situated in a 90 degree angle from the keyboard.

I atleast has found the cause for the 28 degree warmth in the shop, all the radiator where on full!!

                              Got the laptop today!

It diden't arive with todays mail!

                              Phoned the suplyer!

Got to talk with "Stupid employe of the month"

He wanted to know who my boss talked to yesterday, or he could not help me!!!

I said goodbye and hung up!

                              Hit redail on the phone.

Got to talk to someone that was not an airhead, explained the whole thing.
he said he would call back.

He did call back ten minutes later !

And started rambling about finding out who's error it was that we got the wron laptop in the begining!

At wich I told him that I knew that mistakes happen and that I don't care any more!!

I'd just wanted to know why it hadent been fixed!!

he ansvered that we should have gotten a RMA number so we could shipp the wrong laptop back and then get the corect one sent back..

That would have taken atleast a week!

At that piont I amlost snapped!!

And gave him a royal chewing on that if you do a Mistake i'ts most important to fix it!!

And the fact that we had been promised the corect laptop today!

He promised to get it fixed and asked if he could call back later (does anyone else see a pattern here?).

I hung up and went to lunch!

the sales manager told my boss that the laptop was on its way and that he would have to improve comunications among his minions as it actualy was he who had promised to fix the mess, and he had thought that it had been fixed, but somwhere in the chain of command a weak link had broken.

The laptop arived 2 hours later by UPS!
