2) has seen every episode of The Next Generation series
Again, I've seen probably 95% of them
3) has seen almost all episodes of the DS9 series,
I'd say 40-50% for me
4) has seen almost all episodes of the Voyager series,
Only 30-odd % here
5) has all of the StarTrek movies on DVD, except for the first one since it is not out yet, and has movies 1 through 8 on VHS tape,
Over here, only 3 have been released - got 'em I have 1 thru 8 on VHS too
6) is currently collecting the orginal series DVDs and is currently up to number 23,
Not any of those - didn't realise they were out?
7) has a subscription to StarTrek the Magazine starting with issue 1,
Nope - none of those. I'm not that sad

BTW: I must have been around -15 when the first series was on

I wanna see Enterprise over here!!! (Someone wanna DIVX/MPEG-ise it for me? )

Well, I have to say...

1. The original series, while quite good in a cult-like way, was... err... umm... well, it WAS the 60's, right?

2. Next Generation was THE Star Trek. It made Star Trek.

3. DS9 was... icky. I kinda liked it at first, but then they all started puttering around on a small ship, and... well it got silly. The whole prophecy wormhole religion thing was a bit much, too.

4. Voyager was crap. Utter utter crap. PC crap. Political Correctness has no place in Star Trek. If the Star Trek earth has overcome prejudice and hatred, then it stands to reason that PC would be a thing of the past, since PC is a pale veneer over hatred and prejudice, masquerading as a solution.

5. I loved Enterprise. Very nice. There were a few plot incongruities (check the General S&H topic on this) but overall very nice.

Dude,

I love the original series. It has a special place in my heart. But let's face it - it created more incongruities than it solved, and was MIGHTY cheeeeeeeze-y.

Mmmm... cheeeze.

Rules for good Star Trek episode:

1, Cheezy sets.
2, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds"
3, The Captain (not some underling) must kiss an alien.
4, The Captain must choose the ship over the kissing Alien.
5, Acting lessons from "Master Thespian".

Any more?

There's a reason ST:TNG was never really ST Wesley Crusher was an ensign for a very long time, but no matter how much I hoped for it, they never killed him off.

And yeah, they sent him off as some demi-god, but that gives him the possibility to always come back. I still live in fear of that day.

There were people who LIKED young Weasel-ey. I did... when I was 12. I think young teenage boys identify with him. Problem is that young teenage boys grow up to be mid-teenage boys, who find him disgustingly femme.
