I didn't put this in the WIII thread.

Where I work one the buildings is a tower building. Airliners from Sheffield airport are still banking round this and one or two poeple were giving them nervous looks.

No but you would have thought the operators at Sheffield air port would have altered the flight path somewhat.

Also some Muslim Centres in the UK have recieved threats. These are nervous times.

I think all over the western world, there are people watching the TV and thinking "That could have been us."
Over here, the Natwest tower and Canary Wharf (our own rather diminutive 'skyscrapers') were evacuated, and a lot of the offices in the City of London were closed early.

I was at my desk when the news broke. The first inkling I had was when the internet suddenly went slow and utilisation of our link hit 100%. Then one of the guys from another office who was over said that 2 planes had hit the WTC.
At that time, we thought it was about 8am in NY and assumed most people wouldnt have been in work. It wasnt until I got home and saw the news that the full horror hit.

In Sheffield we haven't got anything to make a worth while target. At one time we had all the steel works which would have been a good target.
Poeple living near American bases are very nervous again understandable.
Today I was walking to work and looked at the kids going to school thinking what have we brought them into.

I think you're safe in Sheff. If the same where to happen in UK, which I doubt, they'd go for a target in London.

Good for a night out though. Though I rather feel this Friday will be a somewhat subdued afair.

That's what we here in Oklahoma City, and those in New York thought too.
