Journalists seem to have a knack of finding all the oddballs and radicals who'll say something controversial, and then presenting it as a widely held view. There are idiots all over the world and we have our fair share too.
Although we frequently poke gentle fun at our neighbours across the sea, and even get annoyed when Hollywood takes liberties with the truth at our expense (such as U571) or casts all the villains as English (although the likes of Alan Rickman, Jeremy Irons and Joss Ackland are rather good at it.), the basic point is that when the chips are down, Britain will throw its hand in with the USA.
After all, someones got to stop you guys making too much of a hash of thingsAthlon XP-64/3200, 1gb PC3200, 512mb Radeon X1950Pro AGP, Dell 2005fwp, Logitech G5, IBM model M.

No we're not all senseless. I saw one of the programs mentioned in the first link and it made feel like vomiting with some of rubbish poeple were coming out with.
A lot of people are very afraid of war and rather pacify and hope the problem will go away which it won't. However if the West gets things slightly wrong things could get a lot worse and there's a possibilty of political regimes across the world drifting to more extremes. If there was General election in the UK tomorrow I wouldn't be surprised if the British National Party picked up a lot votes overall. This is something no one wants.
The next few months possibly years are going to be very hard for everyone and emotions will run high.

Sounds to me like waking along with your friend and he starts throwing rocks at shop windows, owner comes out and picks on both. You tell your friend to stop but he keeps on doing it, he feels just too coqy about it.
