Oh, c'mon. You know I can't offer timeframes. In fact, I can't even confirm whether something even exists or not. You know that. Don't speculate... just exercise a small amount of patience.

To get an idea of my mindset... I bought the cheapest Kyro2 I could find when my first Prophet 4500 flaked out. It was like $80 online. That'll keep me happy until ... err... whenever.

What happened to your Prophet? I was thinking of buying one (if I really do build that 2nd machine).
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

The Prophet gakked out. I've heard a couple reports of similar problems... screen goes all wiggly all the time for no reason. Started off only when the board was cold (like first 2 minutes of operation for the day) but after a week or so it was "all the time", and it had to come out.

No warranty coverage? Maybe this is one part I won't buy OEM.

Maybe we need a babe thread. Those are always good.

A new high performance card with buggy drivers would help.

But a babe thread could bide the time.
